Sheriff departments across Virginia say that the E911 centers receive the most number of calls on Friday afternoons from 1p to 7p. These E911 centers acknowledge the same four issues as the main reasons for the calls received: domestic violence, mental illness, opioid overdoses, and gangs. Every county may have additional needs as well. There is also a great need among sheriff and police departments, EMTs and fire fighters, for personal safety and family stability.
Will you join others across the state of Virginia and pray for your county and those who serve you and your county’s citizenes? Would you consider starting a group in your church and begin to pray on Friday afternoons? We are asking everyone to pray for 30 minutes every Friday afternoon for their county. Where Christians in VA counties have already started praying, the results are very positive.
One sheriff I spoke with asked me a simple question, “Where is the church?” My response was that many believers don’t know what to do or who to pray for. Here is a grand opportunity to see God reveal Himself through prayer. James 5:16 states, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (or woman) avails much.”
